Team India and Sri Lanka will square off in match 10 of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. The two sides will lock horns at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Tuesday, September 12. Notably, the Men in Blue will play matches on consecutive days after their game against Pakistan was pushed to the reserve day. On the other hand, the Lankan Lions are heading to the next fixture on the back of a win against Bangladesh by 21 runs in their first game in Super Four. Speaking about their head-to-head records, team India have a massive upper hand with wins on 96 occasions to Sri Lanka’s 57 in 165 meetings thus far. As many as 11 games have yielded a no result whereas one fixture resulted in a tie. As the two teams square off to inch closer towards the summit clash, we take a look at the top three players to watch out for in the upcoming match-

3. Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill seemed to be in fine touch in the previous game against Pakistan. The swashbuckling right-hander slammed 58 off 52 balls which featured ten boundaries. The batter is capable of putting up solid partnerships and lay a decent foundation for the rest of the batting unit to capitalize upon.

2. Matheesha Pathirana

The Sri Lankan speedster returned with a three-wicket haul against Bangladesh in his last outing. In addition to this, he gave mere 58 runs in his 9.1 overs at a solid economy of 6.32. Pathirana will be eager to add more wickets under his belt and maintain his purple patch in the competition.

1. KL Rahul

KL Rahul made a resounding comeback in the setup during the match against arch-rivals Pakistan. The flamboyant batter slammed his fifty off 60 balls which featured five fours and a solitary maximum and eventually went on to score big in the contest. While he effortlessly got the big runs, Rahul will be gunning to replicate a similar performance against the Lankan Lions to keep his side ahead.
