After winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the fourth consecutive time, with a 2-1 margin, India will lock horns with Australia in a three-match ODI series starting from March 17 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The second ODI will take place on March 19 at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam and the third ODI will be played on March 22 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
This series will be used as a walkthrough for ODI World Cup to be held later this year in India. Meanwhile, Steve Smith is set to lead the Australian team for the upcoming ODI series. The return of aggressive all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Marsh, and David Warner will be positive for the mighty Australians. Rohit Sharma will be missing the first game due to family commitments and Hardik Pandya would lead India in Rohit’s absence.
