After the exhilarating conclusion of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, cricket enthusiasts are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, slated to be hosted in Pakistan. Scheduled to kick off on February 19 and culminate on March 9, with March 10 reserved as a contingency day for the final, the tournament promises to be a riveting display of cricketing prowess.

The excitement surrounding the event is heightened by the recent victory of India in the T20 World Cup, where they clinched the title after a dramatic showdown against South Africa in the final match. Notably, it was India’s second T20 World Cup title.

India-Pakistan game set in Lahore

According to reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally submitted the schedule to the International Cricket Council (ICC), outlining the details of the tournament. A key highlight of the fixture list includes a highly anticipated match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, scheduled to take place in Lahore on March 1, 2025.

However, amidst these preparations, uncertainties loom over India’s participation in the tournament. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to confirm whether the Indian team will travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy, citing diplomatic and security concerns. The decision hinges on consultations with the Indian government, whose stance will play a crucial role in determining the team’s participation.
