Madhya Pradesh clinch Buchi Babu final with emphatic victory over Delhi

Madhya Pradesh clinched the All-India Buchi Babu Invitation cricket tournament title, courtesy of a magnificent outing in a multi-day final match against Delhi. Speaking of the game, Madhya Pradesh won the toss and opted to bat first. They scored 271/3 in 89 overs in their first innings, thanks to Arham Aqueel’s 65 runs, Aniket Verma’s 68 runs, and Sumit’s (100* off 269) superb unbeaten century. Delhi’s Hrithik Shokeen, Himanshu Chauhan, and Shivank Vashisht, each picked up one wicket by the end of the opening day.

Madhya Pradesh continued their performance, reaching a mammoth total of 370 all out in 118.5 overs. Sumit was the standout performer for the side, scoring 114 runs, while Aman Bhadoria also provided a significant contribution amassing 42 runs. For Delhi, Hrithik Shokeen, Shivank Vashisht, and Siddhant Sharma claimed three wickets each.

Delhi got off to the worst possible start in the Buchi Babu final, as they finished at 126/4 in 58 overs on Day 2, with Shivank (44*) at the crease. Ramveer Gurjar, Kulwant Khejrolia, and Aryan Deshmukh picked up wickets for Madhya Pradesh. Delhi continued to struggle on the third day as they were bundled out for 201 in 89.4 overs. Shivank played a crucial knock of 83 runs but Gurjar’s four-wicket haul, Kulwant Khejrolia’s three wickets, and Aryan Deshmukh’s two wickets helped Madhya Pradesh to restrict Delhi.

Madhya Pradesh reached 129/6 in 53 overs, courtesy of Shubham Sharma’s 33 runs and Aryan Deshmukh’s unbeaten 17* runs on the same day. Shivank continued his outstanding bowling form, picking up four crucial wickets. On the final day of the summit clash, Madhya Pradesh were bowled out for 172 runs in 75.5 overs, setting a 343-run target. Shivank finished with excellent figures of 5/43, while Arpit Rana picked two wickets.

During the chase, Delhi batters battled and were eventually bundled out for a below-par 91 runs in 28.4 overs. Kulwant Kherjrolia picked up three wickets, Shubham Sharma took two, and Adheer Pratap Singh took one wicket to help Madhya Pradesh secure a thumping 250-run win.
