Former Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan has added a touch of humour to Ravindra Jadeja‘s recent Instagram post.

The all-rounder, who has been enjoying a well-deserved break from cricket, shared pictures with his mare on Monday, September 2. “She’s very good at posing #poser,” he captioned his post.

Dhawan, known for his light-hearted nature, couldn’t resist leaving a playful comment on Jadeja’s post.

He wrote, “Better then you,” poking fun at the all-rounder’s posing skills.

Jadeja, who recently announced his retirement from T20Is, has been enjoying his time away from the game. He was not considered for India’s ODI series against Sri Lanka, which the latter won 2-0 with one match ending in a tie.

Jadeja’s T20I retirement and future plans

Jadeja’s retirement from T20Is came after India’s victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup. He joined Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in announcing his decision to step away from the shortest format. However, he remains committed to playing in the ODI and Test formats for India.

The left-hander was rested for the ODI leg of the Sri Lanka tour earlier this month. He is now set to make his return to the Indian squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh.

Jadeja misses Duleep Trophy first round

Meanwhile, Jadeja, along with Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik, has been ruled out of the first round of the Duleep Trophy 2024-25. Jadeja was initially named in Team B’s squad but was released by the BCCI without naming a replacement.

However, he is expected to be available for selection for the India-Bangladesh Test series, which begins on September 19 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The second Test will be played at Green Park in Kanpur from September 27.
