In a remarkable display of resilience and skill, Litton Kumar Das played a sensational knock, bringing up his fourth Test century in style against Pakistan. With Bangladesh in deep trouble at 26/6, Litton’s innings was nothing short of heroic, providing his team a fighting chance to stay in the contest on Day 3 of the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Litton Das’ remarkable century 

Das reached the milestone with a deft late cut-off to Abrar Ahmed, sending the ball racing to the boundary at a backward point. Immediately after completing his ton, Litton took off his helmet, kissed the Bangladesh badge, and embraced his batting partner. His face showed a mixture of relief and determination—this was a century of immense importance for his team.

Das eventually fell for 138 off 228 deliveries, a knock that featured 13 fours and 4 sixes. His courageous effort kept Bangladesh in the game, despite their precarious position when he came to the crease. His brilliant knock not only stabilized Bangladesh’s innings but also rekindled hopes of a possible lead, although they ultimately fell just short.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Das shine as Bangladesh trails 

Pakistan, having posted 274 in their first innings, saw notable contributions from Saim Ayub, who top-scored with 58 off 110 balls, and captain Shan Masood, who made a solid 57 before being dismissed. However, it was Mehidy Hasan Miraz who shone with the ball, taking a superb five-wicket haul to keep Bangladesh in contention.

Bangladesh’s response to Pakistan’s total ended at 262 all out in 78.4 overs during the third session of Day 3. Das and Miraz were the standout performers for Bangladesh. While Litton anchored the innings, Miraz not only excelled with the ball but also made a valuable contribution with the bat, scoring 78 off 124 deliveries. His all-round performance was instrumental in keeping Bangladesh within touching distance of Pakistan’s first-innings total.

In their first innings, Bangladesh found themselves trailing by just 12 runs, with the match finely poised for an exciting finish.
