India are set to play a five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe, slated to begin on Friday (July 6). The World Cup-winning team has been given a break from this series, with only Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shivam Dube and Sanju Samson set to join the squad from the third match. All the five games will take place at Harare Sports Club in Harare.

India’s young brigade under Shubman Gill

The Indian squad is packed with young, talented players eager to make a mark on the international stage. Shubman Gill will be leading a young and promising Indian squad in Harare, which also features exciting and quality talents like Abhishek Sharma, Riyan Parag and Rinku Singh among others. With Gill at the helm, the team aim to showcase their skills and build on their experience.

Zimbabwe’s opportunity

For Zimbabwe, this series represents a fantastic opportunity to cause an upset and gain valuable experience against a strong Indian side. Sikandar Raza will lead the relatively young team, with most of the senior players not part of the squad. The focus will be on their impressive bowling unit that includes Wellington Masakadza, Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava. These bowlers have the potential to trouble the Indian batters and make the series competitive.
