Game 49 of the ongoing WBBL (Women’s Big Bash League) 2023 will feature a clash between Sydney Sixers women and Brisbane Heat women at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane on Tuesday, November 21.
Both sides will be coming into the game on the back of losses in their previous game. Sydney Sixers women took on Adelaide Strikers women in the 45th game of the tournament. Batting first, Sixers posted a total of 122 runs in the first innings. Chloe Tryon was the highest run getter with 39 runs to her name.
Aiming to defend the total, Sixers did not manage to do so well with the ball as well. Katie Mack propelled Strikers to a brilliant start, scoring 45 runs in 47 deliveries. Strikers managed to chase down the total with seven wickets in hand.
As for Sixers, Lauren Cheatle, Ellyse Perry, and Kate Peterson were among the wicket takers, taking one wicket each as Adelaide Strikers won the game by seven wickets.
On the other hand, Brisbane Heat women took on Melbourne Stars women in their previous game. Both sides faced off in the 47th game of the tournament in Melbourne. The clash began with Stars coming into bat first and posting a total of 156 runs on the board in the first innings.
Maia Bouchier was the highest wicket taker for Stars with 41 runs in 29 deliveries. As for Heat, Nicola Hancock and Amelia Kerr were the only wicket takers, taking two wickets each.
Aiming to chase down the total, Heat fell prey to Stars’ brilliant bowling attack. Amelia Kerr was the highest run getter during the second innings, scoring 36 runs in 34 deliveries.
Only managing to score 141 runs, Brisbane Heat women lost the game by 15 runs. As both sides come into the clash on the back of losses, it could be interesting to see who comes out on top between Brisbane Heat women and Sydney Sixers women.
