Thailand Women will take on UAE Women at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium Ground 2. Match 12 in the round-robin stage of the 2022 Women’s Asia Cup gets underway on Friday 7th October at 09:00 local time.

After losing their opening two games by nine wickets to Bangladesh Women and 49 runs to Sri Lanka Women, Thailand Women pulled off the biggest upset in the tournament so far on Thursday. They beat Pakistan Women by four wickets with one ball remaining.

Chasing 117 for victory, opener Natthakan Chatham produced over 50% of the runs with 61 runs from 51 balls. Her innings included five fours and two sixes but she was dismissed from the 18.4th ball and it looked like the dream could be over. However, Nattaya Boochatham and Rosenan Kanoh carried the side home.

Thailand Women took five wickets against Pakistan Women including two run-outs in an impressive fielding display. With the ball, left-arm spinner Thipatcha Putthawong took her fourth wicket of the tournament, before the experienced Sornnarin Tippoch recorded figures of 2-20.

The defeats against Bangladesh Women and Sri Lanka Women were expected but the win over Pakistan Women ended a run of four successive losses for Thailand Women.
UAE Women
The tournament newcomers got their first win of the campaign with a seven-wicket victory, with five balls remaining, against Malaysia Women on Wednesday. Before the win, UAE Women had been beaten by both Sri Lanka Women and India Women in the competition.

Chasing 89 for victory, UAE Women got over the winning line from the first ball of the last over. 18-year-old left-handed opener Theertha Satish was the star of the batting line-up, she batted throughout the innings and finished on 62 not out from 60 balls.
UAE-W Bowling
The UAE Women’s bowling attack produced an excellent display against Malaysia Women with all six bowlers keeping their economy rate below 5.50. Chaya Mughal, Esha Oza, Vaishnave Mahesh, and Inhuja Nandakumar all took a wicket each.

UAE Women have now won two of their last four matches with wins over Malaysia Women and USA Women.
