Arsenal, currently sitting at the top of the Premier League table, are preparing for two significant matches in the coming days. On Saturday, the Gunners travel to Leicester City, hoping to extend their lead at the summit of the table, followed by a game in hand at home against Everton.

In the Europa League, Arsenal will face Sporting Lisbon in the last 16 of the competition. The draw means a reunion with former Gunners star Hector Bellerin, who joined Ruben Amorim’s side from Barcelona in January. The Portuguese side boasts a number of former Premier League players, including ex-Spurs starlet Marcus Edwards and Sebastian Coates, once of Liverpool.

Jorginho, the midfielder who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in January, has heaped praise on manager Mikel Arteta, saying he reminds him of his former manager Maurizio Sarri. “He [Arteta] reminds me a little bit of Sarri,” the midfielder told BeIN Sport. “I am used to working with a manager that looks into the details. For me, details make the difference in the end between a good team and a winning team.”

“I am sure, 100 per cent, that he worships [the details] so much. I’ve only been here a short time but I’m sure every day there is going to be something new, and that’s why I’m so excited as well because I can see that I have so much to learn here.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s Premier League rivals, Barcelona, have been drawn to face Spanish opponents Real Betis in the Europa League. The final of the competition will take place in Budapest on May 31.

As Arsenal looks to maintain their position at the top of the Premier League and advance in the Europa League, their upcoming matches against Leicester and Everton will be crucial. The Gunners will need to be at their best to overcome a resolute Leicester side and secure the three points, while the game in hand against Everton could potentially put some distance between themselves and the chasing pack.

The reunion with former Arsenal star Bellerin and the prospect of facing a Sporting Lisbon side boasting former Premier League players will add extra intrigue to Arsenal’s Europa League campaign. With Jorginho expressing his excitement to learn under Arteta, Arsenal fans can hope that their team’s attention to detail will be the difference in their quest for silverware this season.
