Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese footballer, signed for Al-Nassr, based in Saudi Arabia, for a whopping transfer fee of over 200 million euros. This happened after a fracas with Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag, which he revealed during the famous interview with Piers Morgan. Meanwhile, the Al-Nassr camp lost their semi-final encounter in the Saudi Super Cup against Al-Ittihad 3-1 on January 26, Thursday.

Al-Nassr’s manager Rudi Garcia opened up on the defeat and said that it was Ronaldo’s missed opportunity in the first half that cost them the game. Garcia’s statement sparked debate amongst the fans and triggered Ronaldo’s followers who came all out against the Frenchman for accusing the legendary footballer.

“One of the things that changed the course of the match was Cristiano’s missed opportunity in the first half,” Garcia was quoted as saying after the match. The 58-year-old made yet another claim that caused abuzz among the followers of the club, while a few predicted that something was not right within the club.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a positive addition: Rudi Garcia

Much to the shock of the Saudi Arabian fans, Garcia revealed that the veteran might not end his career at Al-Nassr and would most probably return to European football before bidding adieu to the sport. However, this comment caused a frenzy and it remains to be seen if Ronaldo would continue with the club in the long run.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is a positive addition, as he helps to disperse defenders. He is one of the best players in the world. He will not finish his career at Al-Nassr, he will return to Europe,” said Garcia. With the dismal 2022 ending on a fairly positive note for Ronaldo, as fans expected him to get off to a great start in a friendly game with the Al-Aalami vs PSG. However, they lost the friendly encounter against Lionel Messi’s side. They later lost a knockout game against Al-Ittihad.

While it would be a delight for English fans, if Ronaldo makes a comeback to European football, one could predict that it might come as a disastrous move for Al-Nassr, Saudi Arabian football and fans after all the hype that went on in roping the player into the squad.
