Mason Mount and Manchester United have struck a personal understanding, and it is anticipated that Manchester United will win the summer transfer battle for the Chelsea midfielder.

Chelsea is anticipated to seek at least £60 million from United for Mount, who is 24 years old. The manager of United, Erik ten Hag, wants more variety in the midfield and he respects Mount’s quickness, pushing, and adaptability. Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Arsenal have all been keeping an eye on the situation. The new Chelsea manager, Mauricio Pochettino, intends to keep Mount. However, it is known that a number of United players anticipate playing next season alongside Mount.

Chelsea has authorised Manchester City to begin negotiations with Mateo Kovacic and is prepared to remove all the deadwood. Kovacic, who has one year left on his contract, is anticipated to make the move to the leaders of the Premier League as Pep Guardiola searches for further depth in the centre midfield position.

The owners of Chelsea do not wish to renew the contracts of any players. That logic also pertains to Mount, whose contract expires the next year. Chelsea faces the possibility of losing one of their academy talents because negotiations for an extension with the England international have stalled.

Chelsea also did not extend a new contract to Kovacic and that is the reason they agreed for him to talk to Manchester City. The Croatian midfielder, who played for Stamford Bridge for five years, is eager for a new challenge and was officially given permission to contact City.

Guardiola, who is eager to expand his options in midfield, would be pleased to have Kovacic on the pitch for him. Ilkay Gundogan might leave City for free. Since departing Leeds last summer, Kalvin Phillips has had difficulty serving as Rodri’s deputy.

Chelsea has spent £600 million on additions since last summer, thus they must recover money and reduce their roster. Pochettino is looking to restructure his midfield and has expressed interest in Manuel Ugarte of Sporting Lisbon. N’Golo Kanté will be a free agent soon since Chelsea have not yet reached an agreement on a new contract.

Both Conor Gallagher and Ruben Loftus-Cheek are targets for Milan, who also have shown their interest to sign Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Pochettino wants to add a goalkeeper as well as a striker to his squad which have been the main issues for the side this season.
