There were scepticisms about the Pro Kabaddi League’s long-term viability upon its inception. The popularity the sport has gained among India’s native population at the grassroots level, however, has helped the PKL (Pro Kabaddi League). The league quickly gained a loyal following and a number of sponsors as it gained popularity.
The league received over 435 million views in its debut season. Up to 552 million people attended the second event. The league expanded from eight clubs in 2017 to twelve teams in 2019. But there are only a few teams that have achieved success in the PKL over the years. Taking a look at the top 3 most successful PKL franchises.

  1. Patna Pirates
One of the initial eight clubs to be established in 2014 and take part in the Pro Kabaddi League’s inaugural season was Patna Pirates. The Patna Pirates advanced to the semifinals of the 2014 and 2015 tournaments, and they defeated U Mumba to claim their first championship in January 2016.
When Patna Pirates defeated Jaipur Pink Panthers in June 2016, they became the first team to properly defend their championship. The Patna-based franchise Kabaddi squad defeated Gujarat Fortunegiants to win their hat-trick of championships in 2017.
  2. Jaipur Pink Panthers
In the ninth season of vivo Pro Kabaddi, the Panthers were at the top of their game. Under Sunil Kumar’s direction, the team gave it their all on the mat in an effort to win the trophy. Before the league stage of the most recent season ended, the first-time champions had improved their eighth-place performance from Season 8 by taking first place.
Their squad were a fair mix of young and old. One of the primary factors in the Top Cats’ campaign success was their all-around performance. They became the second-most successful franchise after the Patna Pirates after winning their second Pro Kabaddi championship.
  3. Bengaluru Bulls
With an average search traffic of 84,357 on various social media sites in 2019, the Rohit Kumar-led Bengaluru Bulls, one of the 12 teams in the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), have emerged as the league’s most well-liked squad.
Bengaluru Bulls just like any other Bangalore team has one of the most loyal fans in the league. They did give their fans something to cheer about when they won the Pro Kabaddi League in the sixth edition and always start every edition as favourites.
