The Eliminator 1 of the IPL 2023 will see the clash between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, May 24.
At the end of the group stage, Lucknow finished third on the IPL 2023 points table with 17 points. Mumbai, on the other hand, earned 16 points and finished in fourth position.
After a tight one-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on May 20, LSG secured their place in the IPL 2023 playoff for the second consecutive season. Meanwhile, the five-time champions defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets in their final league stage game on May 21 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and sealed their playoff spot.
Here are three batters to watch out for in the match between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians:
Quinton de Kock
Quinton de Kock has been instrumental for LSG in the matches he has played so far. The wicketkeeper-batter has scored 143 runs in four innings, including a half-century at an average of 35.75 and a strike rate of 140.19.
Nicholas Pooran
Nicholas Pooran has been Lucknow’s one of the standout performers this season. The keeper-batter has amassed 358 runs from 14 matches, including two half-centuries at an average of 32.54 and a strike rate of 173.78. He has played some brilliant knocks for LSG and will be one of the batters to watch out for in the Eliminator.
Suryakumar Yadav
After making a poor start in the ongoing IPL season, Suryakumar Yadav made a terrific comeback for Mumbai Indians. The star India batter currently sits in seventh position in the IPL 2023 Orange Cap list. He has amassed 511 runs in 14 innings, including four half-centuries and a century at an average of 42.58 and a strike rate of 185.14.
