Manchester Originals and Oval Invincibles will lock horns in match No. 13 of the ongoing The Hundred 2023 Men’s competition. Both teams will square off at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on Wednesday, August 9.

Speaking about their head-to-head records, the two sides have met each other on two occasions with either team winning once thus far. In the ongoing season, Manchester Originals have produced quite a few impressive individual performances as skipper Jos Buttler is the leading run getter with 142 runs in three matches at a solid average of 71.00.

Likewise, Tom Hartley and Joshua Little are the leading wicket takers for Manchester with four wickets each in the competition. On the flip side, Gus Atkinson has been terrific for Oval Invincibles as he has claimed four scalps in just two appearances.

Speaking about the pitch conditions, the 22-yard-strip at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London is known for being batting-friendly, along with favouring bowlers with a good bounce coupled with some movement early on in the first innings.

Therefore, the skipper winning the toss will prefer to put up a total so as to put the opposition under the pump by posting a competitive total on the board. However, bowlers will need to be sharp with their line and lengths to not leak too many runs.

While both teams look decent on paper, it remains to be seen as to which side outweighs the other on Wednesday’s blockbuster clash.
