The auction for the 2023 season of the Pro Kabaddi league is set to take place on the 8th and the 9th of September in Mumbai. It will be the biggest auction in the history of Kabaddi. More than 500 players are expected to go under the hammer in the 10th edition of the biggest Kabaddi league. The matches of the 2023 edition of the Pro Kabaddi will begin on the 10th of December later this year.
Here are three players who can potentially bag the highest bid in the history of the PKL:
1. Pawan Sehrawat – The Indian raider is considered to be one of the greatest raiders in the history of the league. The icon of the league injured himself while playing for Tamil Thalaivas in the Pro Kabaddi League 2022 against Gujarat Giants. Due to the ACL tear, Sehrawat could not play further in the PKL 2022 and was released by Thalaivas. The star raider is now available in the auctions, who is the most expensive player in the history of the league.
2. Fazel Atrachali – The former Iranian captain is one of the topmost defenders in the history of the league. Atrachali led Puneri Paltans to the finals of PKL 9. But the star defender was released by Puneri Paltans after the season and is now available in the auctions. Atrachali can be the lead defender in the left corner and can also lead the sides.
3. Rahul Chaudhari – The Indian raider is one of the biggest names in the history of the league. In the first few seasons of the league, there was immense hype around the skills of Chaudhari. Unfortunately, the Star Raider has not lived up to the expectations of the fans. In 21 matches in PKL 9, Chaudhari had only 73 raid points for Jaipur Punk Panthers. The Bijnor-born raider is released by the defending champions and can go high for his records.
Jaipur Pink Panthers, the defending champions, have retained some of their top performers from the previous season like Arjun Deshwal and Deepak Nivas Hooda. Ahead of the auctions, the men in pink have a set squad and look favorites to defend their title.
