In a thrilling encounter at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Monday, December 11, the Bengaluru Bulls, the champions of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) season 6, managed to secure their first victory of PKL Season 10. Battling against the UP Yoddhas, the Bulls exhibited resilience and determination, ultimately emerging triumphant with a narrow 38-36 win in front of their home crowd.
The Bengaluru leg matches had initially been disappointing for the Bulls, with a string of unfavourable outcomes. However, their fortunes took a turn for the better in this game, providing fans with a glimmer of hope for the remainder of the season. The team faced a tough challenge in the form of the UP Yoddhas, but an exceptional performance by Vikash Kandola, who recorded 11 crucial points, played a pivotal role in the Bulls’ comeback.
The match began with a slow and cautious opening, but the Yoddhas quickly gained momentum, taking an early 4-1 lead. Pardeep Narwal’s super raid added to the pressure, putting the Bulls on the back foot. However, Kandola’s spectacular super raid turned the tide, bringing the Bulls within two points of their opponents.
Brilliant presence of mind by Bharat
As the game progressed, the Bulls, buoyed by the enthusiastic home crowd, continued to build on their momentum. A second All-Out in the second half propelled them to a commanding 29-21 lead. Hooda’s Super Raid further widened the gap, leaving the Yoddhas trailing. Despite a spirited comeback attempt by the Yoddhas in the final minutes, the Bulls managed to hold their ground.
The Yoddhas executed an All-Out with just 40 seconds remaining, injecting suspense into the game. However, Bharat’s strategic play on the edge of the line ensured that the Bulls secured the much-needed victory, delighting their home fans. With another crucial match against the Jaipur Pink Panthers on December 14, the Bengaluru Bulls will be aiming to carry forward this positive momentum and solidify their position in PKL Season 10. Despite Pradeep’s wonderful performance where he took 13 raid points, the Yoddhas failed to win the match.
