Hardik Pandya has been the target of relentless criticism from Mumbai Indians (MI) fans, both online and offline. Despite appeals from cricketers and notable figures to cease the negativity, fans continue to troll the MI skipper.
Previously, Ravichandran Ashwin and Navjot Singh Sidhu had voiced their support for Pandya amid the increasing hostility towards him. Now, former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer has joined them in backing the Indian all-rounder.
Wasim Jaffer’s supportive message for Hardik Pandya
Following his dismissal for a golden duck against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Pandya faced ridicule from fans on social media. Reacting to the same, Jaffer expressed his solidarity with the 30-year-old cricketer. Jaffer encouraged Pandya to remain strong against all the hatred and wished him success in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. He also condemned the behaviour of trolls, noting that their voices would turn positive once Pandya starts performing well for Team India.
“Criticise his performance as much as you want but it’s extremely disappointing to see the constant personal trolling and attacks. Stay strong @hardikpandya7 (Hardik Pandya’s X handle) next month you’ll be playing crucial knocks in WC and the same people will be singing your praise.” Jaffer wrote on X (previously Twitter).
