The group stage of CPL 2022 is over and we will now move toward the playoffs. Two weeks back, it looked highly unlikely that the Guyana Amazon Warriors would be taking part in these playoffs but a fantastic run of four straight victories has helped them not only qualify but to finish second in the group.

Their most recent victory came against the Barbados Royals, also their opponents in Qualifier 1. The Royals have won 8 out of the 10 matches they have played so far and have been one of the best teams on show. It is therefore a bit surprising to see the cricket betting sites rate the Royals as the underdogs heading into this match.

Match prediction and cricket betting tips for Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Barbados Royals Qualifier 1 CPL 2022. The match will be played at the Providence Stadium, Guyana on the 27th of September 2022.

GUYANA AMAZON WARRIORS

The Guyana Amazon Warriors have been excellent in the last few weeks of CPL 2022. They have won their previous four matches and adapted very well to playing in home conditions. The remaining matches are also scheduled to be played in Guyana and that should be seen as a big advantage for the Warriors.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors have made a couple of good additions to their lineups. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shakib Al Hasan are world-class players. With Shakib, you also get a genuine spin-bowler very helpful in the slow conditions that Guyana offers.

Add Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope and three fantastic all-rounders to the mix and you have a very strong batting lineup.

Romario Shepherd picked up three wickets in the previous match and leads a bowling unit that is finding its rhythm. Shakib AL Hasan, Imran Tahir, and Keemo Paul will all play a crucial role for the Guyana Amazon Warriors as well.

BARBADOS ROYALS

The Barbados Royals have lost two very important players to international duty. David Miller and Quinton de Kock will travel to India for South Africa’s series and they are going to be hard to replace. What is also concerning for the Barbados Royals is that Kyle Mayers has hit a rough patch after a brilliant start to CPL 2022.

The bulk of the runs will have to come from Kyle Mayers, Corbin Bosch, Azam Khan, and Jason Holder. This is still a talented batting lineup but the loss of Miller and de Kock makes it a lot more bearable than before.

The bowling lineup for the Barbados Royals is also quite strong. Obed McCoy is perhaps the best T20 bowler in the Caribbean right now. Both he and Jason Holder have picked up 15 wickets each this season. With Mayers contributing regularly and Mujeeb ur Rahman to take advantage of any spin on offer, the Royals will fancy their chances in this match.

GUY vs BR Match Toss Prediction

Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss before choosing to field and winning by five wickets on Sunday. On the same surface, we expect to see both skippers opting to bowl first.

GUY vs BR Pitch Report

There was assistance for all types of bowlers in Sunday’s game but the Warriors batters also showed that it is a good batting wicket. We expect a par score to be over 170.

Weather Report

It will be humid with sunny spells alongside cloudy conditions during the scheduled time of this match. It should remain dry but there is a chance of a thunderstorm in the area.

Final Verdict

Guyana Amazon Warriors are favourites to beat Barbados Royals at odds of 1.66.
