Now in a surprising turn of events, India found themselves dissatisfied with the gym facilities provided within their hotel in Long Island according to the CricketNext media reports. As a result, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took the unprecedented step of purchasing memberships for a nearby popular gym chain to ensure the players had access to adequate facilities.

“Yes, the team doesn’t use the hotel gym and they have a membership of a gym nearby and everyone uses that. It is a very popular gym chain,” a source was quoted as saying by CricketNext.

Rushed arrangements and average facilities

Earlier the team resorted to training in public parks for nets sessions due to the inadequacies of designated venues. Cantiague Park, designated by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as an official net area with drop-in pitches, failed to meet the expectations of the players and management alike, with reports of “average facilities” causing discontent.

The chaotic nature of the tournament’s logistics has been palpable, with rushed arrangements evident across various aspects of the event. From practice sessions to ground facilities, the Indian team has encountered challenges at every turn, leading to a sense of disarray among players and management. The reports further revealed while the BCCI has acknowledged the shortcomings in venue preparedness and practice arrangements, no official complaint has been lodged yet.

“We all are aware of the rushed arrangements everywhere. From practice to ground to the gym facilities in the hotel, everything is here and there. Chaos is the right word,” the source concluded.
