The star of the innings was Travis Head, who played a blistering knock of 80 runs off just 25 balls, smashing 12 fours and 5 sixes. Head’s explosive start, a 17-ball half-century, set the tone for the chase, with Mitchell Marsh continuing the onslaught with a quickfire 39 off 12 balls, including 5 fours and 3 sixes.
Scotland’s bowlers were unable to contain the Australian batsmen, with Mark Watt being the only one to find some success, taking 2 wickets for 13 runs in his 2 overs. Brandon McMullen managed to dismiss debutant Jake Fraser McGurk for a duck, but the rest of the attack was taken to the cleaners by the Australian batters.
