Chicago CC’s dominant performance

Chicago CC set a daunting target after being put in to bat first, racking up an imposing total of 160 for the loss of just four wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Their batting was powered by an explosive innings from Leonardo Julien, who played a blistering knock of 61 runs off just 22 balls. Julien’s powerful hitting included five fours and six towering sixes, providing Chicago CC with the upper hand in the final.

Ben Russell from the Atlanta Kings tried his best to stem the flow of runs, emerging as his team’s top bowler with an impressive spell of two overs in which he claimed three wickets. However, Chicago’s aggressive batting ensured they set a massive target of 161 for Atlanta to chase.

A historic win for Chicago CC

In response, the Atlanta Kings fought valiantly but could only manage 117 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 10 overs. Tom Bruce was the standout performer for Atlanta, delivering a fighting knock of 61 runs off 21 balls, including some brilliant strokeplay. Despite Bruce’s best efforts, Atlanta’s run chase faltered, and they fell 43 runs short of the target.

Julien’s batting brilliance earned him the Player of the Match award, as his heroics with the bat proved decisive in securing Chicago CC’s victory.

Chicago CC’s triumph in the inaugural NCL T10 not only brought them glory but also set the standard for future editions of the tournament. The team’s blend of powerful batting, disciplined bowling, and tactical captaincy by Uthappa proved too much for their opponents throughout the season, and their dominant display in the final capped off a remarkable campaign.
