During the ongoing three-match Test series between Pakistan and England, cricket fans were treated to a comical display of teamwork as Joe Root ingeniously used Jack Leach‘s head to shine the ball. The incident took place on Day 1 of the second Test match at Multan cricket stadium after Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first.

As England’s bowlers prepared for an over from Leach, Root was spotted rubbing the match ball against Leach’s scalp to enhance its shine. The sight of Root humorously polishing the ball on Leach’s head provided a much-needed chuckle in a sport often filled with intense competition. This amusing moment was particularly notable as it marked the second time Root had engaged in such antics with Leach; a similar incident took place during a Test match against Pakistan back in December 2022.
