The defining moment came during the 60th over of New Zealand’s first innings when Sundar bowled a delivery that cricket enthusiasts will remember for a long time. With Ravindra on 65 off 105 balls, Sundar charged in from around the wicket. The ball drifted in towards off stump, landing on a perfect length before turning sharply. Ravindra, attempting to defend, found himself completely beaten as the ball clipped the off stump, sending him back to the pavilion in disbelief.

Ravindra played a crucial role in New Zealand’s innings, scoring brilliant half-century with five fours and one six. His dismissal marked a significant turning point, as it was evident that he had been a key contributor to New Zealand’s score.

Following the dismissal of Ravindra, Sundar continued to exert pressure on the New Zealand batting line-up, claiming the wicket of Tom Blundell shortly thereafter for just three runs. This marked another significant achievement for Sundar, showcasing his ability to capitalize on crucial moments in the game.

In addition to Sundar’s remarkable performance, Ravichandran Ashwin also made significant contributions with the ball, taking three wickets in his 19-over spell. Ashwin’s experience and skill further strengthened India’s bowling attack, making it clear that the home side was determined to seize control of the match.
