After losing the ODI series by 1-2, Bangladesh made a terrific comeback in the T20I series as they registered a thrilling win in the first game by two wickets. After being put into bat first, Afghanistan posted a decent score of 154/7 on the board. In reply, Bangladesh ended up chasing the target in 19.5 overs despite Karim Janat’s hat-trick in the last over.
After losing the first match, Afghanistan will have all to play for in the second T20I as the two teams meet in the second T20I on Sunday, July 16 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet. As Afghanistan prepare for their fightback, let’s take a look at the three players to watch out for from their side in the 2nd T20I:
Rashid Khan
The Afghanistan skipper bowled an economical spell of 1/24 in four overs but failed to save his side from a loss. Rashid was seen in imperious form in the recent IPL where he starred with both bat and ball. The wrist-spinner will look to fire with both bat and ball to help his side level the series.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz
The wicketkeeper batter departed cheaply in the first T20I after scoring just 16 off 11 balls smashing two fours and a six in his innings. Gurbaz scored an explosive hundred (145 off 125) in the second ODI and helped his side clinch the series with a victory by 142 runs. With his side in dire need of another breathtaking performance, Gurbaz will be eager to step up for his team once again and help them level the series.
Ibrahim Zadran
The 21-year-old got dismissed for 8 (6) in the first game and left his side reeling at 32/3 after 4.4 overs. Zadran also notched up a splendid hundred (100 off 119) in the second ODI to help his side post a mammoth total of 331/9. With their backs against the wall, Afghanistan will once again need Zadran to fire with the bat to help them level the series 1-1.
