Following a crushing defeat in the first ODI, India Women are gearing up for the second one-day match against Bangladesh Women at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday, July 19. Speaking about the first ODI, Harmanpreet Kaur-led team India got off to a dominating start with the ball, restricting Bangladesh to a paltry score of 152 runs.
Notably, debutant Amanjot Kaur dazzled with the ball as she claimed a four-wicket haul for 31 runs in her nine overs. However, Bangladesh clawed their way back into the contest as the bowling attack operated in tandem to rip through the Indian batting line-up. Restricting India to a meagre 113 runs, Bangladesh won by 40 runs in a rain-shortened clash.
Team India will be gunning to get back on level terms whereas the home side will be hoping to take an unassailable lead in the three-match series. With the second ODI set to be played on July 19, we take a look at the three bowlers to watch out for from Bangladesh-
3. Sultana Khatun
The 27-year-old off-spinner played an instrumental role in Bangladesh’s win in the first ODI as she was quite economical with the ball. 1. Marufa Akter
Marufa Akter’s magnificent four-wicket haul in the previous clash, comfortably helped Bangladesh win the contest. The pacer has the potential to get the breakthroughs on a consistent basis and will be hungry for the scalps in the second ODI in order to help Bangladesh extend their lead.
