Bangladesh and England will lock horns in the sixth Warm up fixture of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati on Monday, October 02. Bangladesh are coming into the game having won their first warm-up game vs Sri Lanka by seven wickets. On the other hand, England’s first warm-up against India got washed out at the same venue.
Bangladesh had a disastrous campaign in Asia Cup 2023 as they crashed out of the tournament in the Super fours stage with just two wins to their name. However, they’ve got their World Cup campaign off to a positive start winning their first warm-up game vs Sri Lanka by seven wickets.
Bowling first they bundled out Sri Lanka for 263 with Mahedi Hasan picking 3/36 in nine overs. In the second innings, they comfortably chased down the target in 42 overs with Tanzid Hasan (84 off 88), Litton Das (61 off 56) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (67* off 64) scoring half-centuries.
On the other hand, England are the defending champions of the tournament, having won the previous edition by the ‘barest of all margins’. They’re once again coming into the event as one of the favourites boasting a strong squad. After their first warm-up game got washed out, England will look to start their campaign on a positive note.
