Delhi Capitals will look to continue their winning streak in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026, while the Gujarat Titans will be searching for their first points. The two teams square off at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday, April 8.

The Capitals are coming into this clash on the back of consecutive victories against Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians. Meanwhile, the Titans have started with defeats against Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals.

Both teams have some proven match-winners in their ranks. It’s just that the Capitals have fired as a unit, while the Titans have been let down by their experienced stars. This clash has all the ingredients of being a must-watch.

Here are the three player battles to watch out for in DC vs GT clash:

Mukesh Kumar vs Sai Sudharsan

Mukesh Kumar has been in fine form with the new ball. He bowled brilliantly without much luck in the game against Lucknow. However, he was rewarded for his consistency in the game against Mumbai. He dismissed left-handers Ryan Rickelton and Tilak Varma.

Mukesh will look to continue his purple patch against left-handers inside the power play when he bowls to Sai Sudharsan. Last year’s Orange Cap winner, Sudharsan, scored a magnificent 73 in the last game and will look to contribute handsomely once again on Wednesday.

Prasidh Krishna vs Sameer Rizvi

Prasidh Krishna won the Purple Cap last year, and this time, he has already accounted for four scalps in two games. He has the ability to bowl 140-plus and mixes it up with a few deceptive slower balls. It is very difficult for the batters to line him up.

Krishna’s battle through the middle overs against the in-form Sameer Rizvi will be intriguing to watch. The Delhi batter has played a couple of exemplary knocks to start the season. He is the current Orange Cap holder, with 160 runs under his belt, which he has scored at a strike rate of 163.27.

Lungi Ngidi vs Shubman Gill

Lungi Ngidi has continued reaping the benefits of mixing his speeds and lengths up. He has done well with the new ball and also in the death overs. It is difficult to keep him out of the game. On Wednesday, the Capitals would want him to strike with the new ball as the Titans have a strong top order.

Ngidi could have a mouth-watering battle with Gujarat captain Shubman Gill. The latter hasn’t played too much cricket of late and could be a bit rusty. If there’s anything half-hearted about his batting on Wednesday, expect Ngidi to make him pay.
