The Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium will play host to Match 19 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday, April 12.
LSG return to their home ground on the back of two consecutive wins to lift them to fifth in the standings. This includes a nervy last-ball victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous fixture.
GT, on the other hand, picked up their first win of the new season when they won by one run against the Delhi Capitals in New Delhi. The 2022 champions needed the two points after losing their first two matches of the campaign.
LSG against GT is an exciting prospect for fans with a host of superstars on show. Both teams possess a strong top order, making their face-off against the opposition’s new-ball bowlers a mouth-watering prospect. The likes of Mohammed Shami and Prince Yadav have had a good few matches and will be looking to trouble the free-scoring pair of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan.
Meanwhile, GT’s bowling unit will have their work cut out against the likes of Nicholas Pooran and Rishabh Pant. The Ahmedabad-based side have a strong bowling unit comprising last year’s Purple Cap winner Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan, to name a few.
Here are 3 player battles for LSG vs GT, Match 18 of IPL 2026:
3. Aiden Markram vs Mohammed Siraj

In a crucial top-order clash, Mohammed Siraj could be up against Aiden Markram and Mitchell Marsh at the start of the innings. The fast bowler, however, has an underwhelming record against Markram.
Siraj has bowled to the South Africa star on five instances, conceding 43 runs at an economy rate of 8.60. The 32-year-old has not taken Markram’s wicket in the IPL so far.
Siraj has had a slightly below-average start to the IPL this season. He has taken just two wickets at an economy of 11.50.
2. Rishabh Pant vs Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan returned to his brilliant best in GT’s previous game against DC, where he took a three-wicket haul at an economy of 4.25. He could be up against LSG captain Rishabh Pant, with the Afghanistan superstar usually the first change bowler.
Pant vs Rashid is a very close match-up. They have faced each other in 13 innings in the IPL, with the left-hander scoring 120 runs at a strike-rate of 120.43. The spinner, however, has got the better of the Pant on two separate occasions.
1. Shubman Gill vs Mohammed Shami

The player battle to watch out for on Sunday will be the top-order clash between GT captain Shubman Gill and LSG’s Mohammed Shami. This face-off can eventually decide the complexion of the game.
Gill likes to go hard in the powerplay while Shami’s early swing has caused a host of batters trouble in the IPL so far. The two have faced each other in seven innings in the IPL, with the right-handed batter scoring 76 runs at a strike-rate of 143.39. Shami, meanwhile, has dismissed Gill twice in the tournament.
