After a terrific win over Mumbai Indians in the last match, Chennai Super Kings will be taking on Delhi Capitals on May 10 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in order to solidify their place in the IPL playoffs. Delhi meanwhile were looking clueless in the first half of the tournament but in the last five matches, the David Warner-led side won four and is back in contention to qualify for the playoffs.
The road to which is not going to be easy, but there are many players who are doing really well for DC at the moment. Opener Phil Salt hit his first half-century in the history of the IPL against Royal Challengers Bangalore in the last match and Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh too is playing some brilliant brand of cricket to keep DC’s hopes alive.
Skipper Warner has blown hot and cold so far and that needs to change. His deputy Axar Patel, on the other hand, is in tremendous form. Ace pacer Ishant Sharma too is doing well and thus, there are a lot of positives for the visiting team ahead of their match against CSK.
However, the MS Dhoni-led side will not be worried much even though DC are playing really well at the moment. Openers Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad are in brilliant form at the moment while Shivam Dube has stepped up time and again. MS Dhoni too contributed well towards the death and things are looking good for the four-time champions at the moment.
With the ball, pacer Tushar Deshpande is currently one of the leading wicket-takers of the tournament while Deepak Chahar picked up two wickets with the new ball in the last match and thus, bowling too looks sorted. Meanwhile, the Sri Lankan duo of Matheesa Pathirana and Maheesh Theekshana too has looked really good as CSK aim to finish in the top two of the league.
