The action continued in the Indian Premier League season 16 on Tuesday, April 4 as Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans locked horns in Match 7 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. After being put in to bat first, the home side had a tough time facing the pace attack of Gujarat as Mohammed Shami and Alzarri Joseph were all over them.

Cameos from Abhishek Porel (20 off 11) and Axar Patel (36 off 22) helped Delhi finish their innings on 162/8.
In reply, Anrich Nortje got Delhi off to a brilliant start as he dismissed openers Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha cheaply. Khaleel Ahmed also got the prized scalp of Hardik Pandya to leave GT on 54/3 after six overs. However, Sai Sudharsan made sure there were no more hiccups in the chase and scored a brilliant half-century which helped Gujarat chase down the target with 11 balls to spare and win the match by six wickets.

After losing their first two games, Delhi will be desperate to register a win in their third fixture against Rajasthan Royals on April 8 at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. On the other hand, Gujarat will look to continue their winning juggernaut against Kolkata Knight Riders at their home ground Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
