With the tournament being a platform for youngsters to showcase their skills, many would be gunning for the Emerging Player of the Season award at the IPL. With many contenders to choose from, let us have a look at three players who could win the prize.
Harry Brook
Star English batter Harry Brook burst onto the scene after fabulous performances for the national team. The 24-year-old was roped in by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 13.25 crore at the mini auction in December 2022.
Brook also hit the first century of the IPL 2023, when he played an unbeaten knock of 100 runs off 55 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders. His quickfire performances make him one of the top contenders for the Emerging Player of the Season award.
Yashasvi Jaiswal
Rajasthan Royals opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in fabulous form in the ongoing edition of the IPL. With 180 runs in six matches so far, Jaiswal has been providing Rajasthan with just the starts that the team needs with the bat. Following his exceptional form, Jaiswal is one of the front-runners for the award as well.
Tilak Varma
The 20-year-old Mumbai Indians batter Tilak Varma has been enjoying a sensational run of form as well. With 214 runs in five games so far, Varma’s performances have been crucial for the five-time champions in regaining their form. If the 20-year-old continues to impress, he could well win the Emerging Player of the Season award. After losing the first two games of the season, Mumbai Indians find themselves on the back of a winning run, as they have emerged victorious in their last three games, and Tilak Varma has had a huge role to play in the wins.
