Fans go berserk as KL Rahul's exceptional knock against CSK keeps DC on a winning streak in IPL 2025

The highlight of his innings was the way he tackled the spinners, using his feet effectively against Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, neutralizing their threat on a turning track. Rahul’s 77-run knock not only anchored the innings but also provided the impetus for a challenging total, earning him accolades from fans and pundits alike.​

Chennai Super Kings’ struggles in the chase

Chasing 184, CSK needed a solid start but found themselves in trouble early on. Rachin Ravindra was dismissed for 3, caught and bowled by Mukesh Kumar in the second over. The top order continued to falter as Ruturaj Gaikwad (5) and Devon Conway (13) also departed cheaply, leaving CSK reeling at 41 for 3 within the powerplay. Vijay Shankar emerged as the lone warrior for CSK, crafting a resilient 69* off 54 balls. His innings was a mix of caution and aggression, but with wickets tumbling at the other end, the required run rate kept climbing. Shivam Dube‘s 18 off 15 and MS Dhoni‘s 30* off 26 provided some resistance, but the lack of substantial partnerships hindered CSK’s chase.​

DC’s bowlers executed their plans meticulously. Vipraj Nigam was particularly impressive, claiming 2 wickets for 27 runs in his 4-over spell, including the crucial scalps of Conway and Dube. Mitchell Starc and Kuldeep Yadav chipped in with a wicket each, applying consistent pressure throughout the innings. CSK eventually managed 158 for 5 in their 20 overs, falling short by 25 runs.
