The IPL 2024 auction was a huge success for the BCCI. The event was held outside India for the first time and in Dubai, 333 players underwent the hammer. A total of 72 players got sold out for 77 available vacancies.
Pat Cummins and Micthell Starc went for over INR 20 Cr each becoming the two most expensive players sold in IPL auction history. But the uncapped Indian players also were in a lot of demand and some of the players got massive deals, which has set them up for life.

Kumar Kushagra has played for the India U19 team and is a wicketkeeper-batter from Jharkhand. He was bought by Delhi Capitals for a massive sum of INR 7.2 cr in the IPL 2024 auction. He was one of the highest run-getters in the 2023 Deodhar Trophy with 227 runs in five innings at a strike rate of 109.13.
Later in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he smashed a 37-ball 67, laced with four fours and five sixes as Jharkhand chased down 355 against Maharashtra. Kushagra will have a lot of pressure to live up to the amount he has been paid if he is preferred as the wicketkeeper over the host of players DC picked.
2. Swastik Chikkara

18-year-old Swastik Chikkara recently made his List-A debut for Uttar Pradesh and has made 200 runs in six games with one century and a strike rate of 109.28. He was bought in the IPL 2024 auction by Delhi Capitals for his base price of INR 20 lakhs. The reason DC went after the UP talent is because of his exploits in the UP T20 League.
In the recently played UP T20 League, Chikkara showcased his hitting prowess which is a trademark of the upcoming crop of batters. He was the second-highest scorer with 494 runs, including three centuries in 10 innings at a strike rate of 173.33.
3. Angkrish Raghuvanshi

Kolkata Knight Riders secured the services of young talent Angkrish Raghuvanshi in the IPL 2024 auction. The youngster has played 5 List-A matches and 7 T20s for Mumbai and has a total of 271 runs with one fifty to his name. However, he is better known for his contribution to India’s triumph in the under-19 World Cup in 2022.
A right-handed batter and left-arm orthodox spinner, Raghuvanshi’s performances have already caught the eye of cricket aficionados and experts alike in the domestic circuit. His bat skill and promise with the ball make him a desirable asset to any team seeking new blood to provide backup and depth.
4. Sameer Rizvi

20-year-old Sameer Rizvi became the most expensive uncapped Indian player of this year’s auction when he was signed by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 8.4 crore. Many thought CSK would go for someone experienced to replace Ambati Rayudu, but they decided to show faith in the young Rizvi.
Rizvi, a hard-hitting batter, came into the limelight in the recent UP T20 league, where he scored 455 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 188.80. Then in the domestic T20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Rizvi continued that form. He scored 277 runs while averaging 69.25 and striking at 139.89.
5. Shahrukh Khan

Shahrukh Khan was a huge buy for Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2024 auction. The Tamil Nadu batter is expected to fill the finisher’s role in the GT lineup after Hardik Pandya left for Mumbai Indians. This meant that David Miller and Rahul Tewatia were the only two finishers in the lineup. Shahrukh Khan has 928 runs in 83 T20s with a strike rate of 133.52. His highest score is 47, but he has hit 57 sixes thus far.
6. Shubham Dubey

Shubham Dubey was pocketed by Rajasthan Royals for a massive INR 5.8 crore. The Vidarbha batter has made a name for himself thanks to his pyrotechnics with the willow. Dubey topped the batting charts for Vidarbha in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, amassing 187.18 runs in seven innings and hitting 28 boundaries, including 18 sixes. The 29-year-old is noted for his huge hits against quick bowlers and has a strong foundation. Using him in the late innings against fastballs may be a game-changer.
7. Ramandeep Singh

Ramandeep Singh showed a glimpse of his talent for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2023 in the handful of chances he got. But he will expect a lot of matches for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024. He’s one of the explosive lower-order hitters with pace bowling capability. Ramandeep scored 418 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 172.73 in this year’s Sher-E-Punjab T20 tournament. He then struck at 222.80 in the SMAT 2023, scoring 127 runs in seven innings.
8. Manav Suthar

Manav Suthar has played for India A and India U19s and turns out for Rajasthan in domestic cricket. He has 44 FC wickets, 15 List-A scalps, and 4 T20 wickets to his name as of now. He was picked by Gujarat Titans at his base price, after spending two years as a net bowler. Suthar was also part of Mumbai Indians’ talent development team.
9. Shreyas Gopal

Shreyas Gopal is an experienced leg-spinner and capable batter down the order and will turn out for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024. His T20 numbers are excellent with 107 wickets in 97 games with an economy of 7.55. His best bowling figures are 5/11. He has been part of the Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad teams. He even has a hat-trick to his name in IPL. Overall, he has 49 wickets in 49 matches with a best of 4/16 and an economy of 8.11 in IPL.
10. Yash Dayal
Yash Dayal was released by Gujarat Titans ahead of the IPL 2024 auction after his nightmare performance in IPL 2023. He two seasons with GT he took 13 wickets in 14 matches with a best of 3/40 and economy of 10.02. Much of that economy came from the 30-run over to Rinku Singh and the aftermath of it.
He was picked by Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 5 crore and it remains to be seen how he performs. RCB’s home ground, the Chinnaswamy Stadium is notorious for a flat wicket and small boundaries, which cut out the work of the bowlers.
11. Kartik Tyagi

Kartik Tyagi was bought by Gujarat Titans for INR 60 lakhs and can be called a cheap buy. GT wanted someone with pace after letting go of Alzarri Joseph and in Kartik Tyagi, they have their fastest and best bowler in death overs. He regularly touched speeds of 150 kph in recent white-ball domestic tournaments and specializes in death overs bowling, with a penchant for yorkers.
