Anshul Kamboj made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians (MI) on Monday (May 6), when he faced Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
Kamboj, aged 23, is a versatile player originating from Karnal, Haryana. His breakthrough came in the latest instalment of the regional fifty-over competition, where he distinguished himself. Contributing significantly to Haryana’s historic title victory, Kamboj emerged as one of the top wicket-takers, claiming an impressive tally of 17 wickets from a mere 10 matches.

Kamboj ventured into the realm of competitive cricket when he was just 15, making his debut appearance in the Vijay Merchant Trophy 2015-16, an under-16 tournament representing Haryana. His journey continued as he contributed to Haryana’s campaigns in both the Vinoo Mankad U-19 tournament and the Coch Behar Trophy.

First-class and List-A debut

In February 2022, he entered the first-class cricket arena for Haryana, facing off against Tripura. However, he could only muster 29 runs and failed to claim a wicket in that match. His introduction to List-A matches occurred in November 2022 against Bihar. After not getting a chance to bat, he remained without a wicket in his debut List-A appearance.
