Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) made history by securing their third Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 title in a commanding victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final showdown at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. This marked KKR’s second triumph in Chennai, reminiscent of their initial title win in 2012 at the same venue, where they triumphed over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a thrilling contest. However, the recent clash was one-sided, with SRH failing to offer much resistance against KKR’s dominance, resulting in KKR’s third victory over them this season.
Following the triumph, KKR co-owner Shah Rukh Khan expressed his joy by personally congratulating each player on the field. The Bollywood icon also shared a memorable moment with Rinku Singh, capturing the spotlight amidst the celebrations.

In the 31st match of the lucrative league, KKR suffered a defeat against Rajasthan Royals (RR), despite posting a formidable target of 223 runs. Following this disappointing outcome, Shah Rukh addressed his team in the dressing room, offering words of motivation to uplift the spirits of players disheartened by the loss. In his discussion, the seasoned actor emphasized that every setback was a part of ‘God’s Plan’ and assured the team that they would emerge stronger in the future.
“The main thing is the energy in all of us. I think we have great energy on the field, we have lovely energy here and personally also, everybody is bonding together. So please continue so. All the best. Honestly, it is a very proud day, the way we all played. I think all of us, I won’t even take individual names, that’s been taken. GG (Gautam Gambhir), don’t feel down. We would all be bouncing back. It’s God’s plan for today,” Shah Rukh said in the video.
