However, amidst the disappointment of the game being called off, a heartwarming scene unfolded in the stands of the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.

Abhishek Sharma, the versatile player from SRH, and Shubman Gill, the esteemed captain of GT, were spotted sharing a delightful moment. Their camaraderie transcended team boundaries, captivating spectators and sparking a wave of warmth across social media platforms.

As rain poured down, rendering the playing field inaccessible, Abhishek guided Gill to join his family in the stands. Among them were Abhishek’s mother, Manju Sharma, and sister, Komal Sharma, all of whom greeted the GT captain with genuine smiles. Gill’s kind demeanour further endeared him to the Sharma family.

With a respectful gesture, the GT opener humbly touched the feet of Abhishek’s mother before warmly exchanging greetings and handshakes with Komal. Manju couldn’t contain her affection, affectionately patting Gill’s cheeks as a sign of warm welcome.

Despite Gill’s team, GT, falling short of making it to the playoffs, he concluded the season with an impressive tally of 426 runs from 12 matches, maintaining an average of 38 and a striking rate of 147. Additionally, pundits lauded his debut season’s captaincy skills.

Conversely, Abhishek is currently experiencing his most prolific IPL season to date. Teaming up with his opening counterpart Travis Head, he has spearheaded SRH with explosive starts unprecedented in IPL history. With 401 runs amassed from 12 innings at an exceptional strike rate of 205.6, Abhishek has also set a new record in the tournament with 35 sixes.
