In another entertaining match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) convincingly defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 7 wickets at Eden Gardens. Mitchell Starc took charge of the third over in DC’s innings and faced consecutive boundaries from McGurk’s bat. On the fifth delivery of his over, Starc went for a length ball, prompting the DC batter to attempt a high shot. However, McGurk mistimed the stroke, causing the ball to fall short towards deep square leg, where Iyer showcased exceptional fielding skills by grabbing the catch.

DC’s tough path for playoffs
DC suffered their sixth loss of the current IPL season, dropping them to the sixth spot in the points table. Holding onto 10 points with a worrying Net Run Rate (NRR) of -0.442, the team captained by Rishabh Pant can face a tough challenge in their playoff journey. With only three matches left, DC must stage a comeback and secure victories in all their upcoming games if they aim to fulfil their dream of lifting the trophy for the first time.
