During the intense clash between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Wednesday (April 10), Gujarat’s all-rounder Vijay Shankar exhibited exceptional athleticism and composure with a stunning catch near the boundary. The pivotal moment occurred in the 19th over when Rajasthan’s Riyan Parag, already in a commanding position with 76 runs off just 47 balls, aimed to clear the long-off boundary off Mohit Sharma‘s delivery.

Vijay Shankar’s remarkable boundary catch

Parag’s shot seemed destined to sail over the ropes, but Shankar stationed himself near the boundary, anticipating the challenge. With impeccable timing, he leaped into the air, managing to reach the trajectory of the ball. However, as he soared, Shankar realized he was perilously close to stepping over the boundary line. Despite this, he showcased remarkable coordination and presence of mind, deftly juggling the ball while airborne to maintain control and prevent a boundary.
