In Match 34 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bowl first.

While LSG are coming into the contest after facing an 8-wicket defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), CSK have won four out of their six matches so far.

Reason why Daryl Mitchell is not playing today’s game

At the toss, CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad revealed that Daryl Mitchell has been replaced by Moeen Ali.

Mitchell’s underwhelming run with the bat was the reason why CSK dropped him from the playing XI. The New Zealand superstar has scored only 93 runs across four innings in IPL 2024, and was struggling to find his rhythm in the middle order.
