Following their emphatic 3-0 victory in the Women’s ODI series, Bangladesh are ready to showcase their prowess in the T20I series against Ireland. The team management has unveiled the squad for the first two T20Is of the three-match series, scheduled to commence on December 5 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

The T20I series will provide Bangladesh an opportunity to bounce back after their underwhelming performance in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, where they managed only one win in four games.

Key details of the T20I leg

All three matches will be played in Sylhet, with the second and third games taking place on alternate days following the opening clash. The T20I series is expected to offer an exciting contest as Bangladesh look to extend their dominance over Ireland across formats.

Players in the spotlight

Bangladesh’s 15-member squad features a mix of experienced players and promising youngsters. Captain Nigar Sultana will lead the side, with all-rounder Nahida Akter serving as the vice-captain. The squad also includes rising stars such as Shorna Akter and Sobhana Mostary, alongside seasoned campaigners like Jahanara Alam and Fahima Khatun.

In addition, three players—Disha Niswas, Shamima Sultana, and Sarmin Sultana—have been named as standbys for the series.
