The hosts West Indies registered a convincing 30-run victory over South Africa in the second T20I of the three-match series, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead. After winning the toss at the Brian Lara stadium in Tarouba, the Proteas elected to bowl first, but the Men in Maroon posted a competitive total of 179 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

“When you give guys opportunity and back them, they can do well. Brandon King is our No.1 opener, but Alick [Athanaze] has grabbed his opportunity. It’s always nice to beat such a team, they are a quality team,” said Rovman Powell, the winning captain, in the post-match presentation.
