This is a tough break for the 22-year-old, who recently reached the milestone of 1,000 international runs during the first T20I in Hamilton.

In her absence, the national selectors have turned to Bella James. James, who was initially brought in as injury cover during the T20Is, will now remain with the squad as the official replacement for the ODI series.
