New Zealand beat Pakistan by 21 runs in the second T20I of the five-match series on Sunday, January 14 at Seddon Park, Hamilton to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Apart from the riveting cricketing action during the game, a hilarious moment was also witnessed as a fan ran away with the ball after Fakhar Zaman launched it out of the stadium in the sixth over of the second innings.

On the last ball of the over, Zaman smacked Ben Sears for a massive six over deep backward square leg. The ball cleared the stadium quite comfortably and landed on the road outside where a fan picked it up and ran away with it. The moment left even the commentators into splits and a new ball was brought in to continue the play.

Babar went on to score 66 off 43 balls smashing seven fours and two sixes, however, he failed to take his side home as Pakistan were bundled out for 173 in 19.3 overs. Ben Sears (2/28), Ish Sodhi (2/33) and Tim Southee (2/31 in 3.3 overs) picked up two wickets each for New Zealand.

Finn Alenn guided New Zealand to 194/8 in the first innings

Earlier in the day, New Zealand opener Finn Allen played a breathtaking innings of 74 off 41 balls clobbering seven fours and five sixes and helped the Kiwis cross the 130-run mark within 13 overs. Apart from him, Devon Conway (20 off 15), Kane Williamson (26 off 15) and Mitchell Santner (25 off 13) also made useful contributions to propel New Zealand’s total to 194/8 in their allotted 20 overs.
