This wicket not only ended Abhishek’s innings at seven runs but also served as a critical breakthrough for Coetzee, who celebrated enthusiastically, highlighting the significance of breaking India’s opening stand so early in the innings.

India blazing start against South Africa
Suryakumar Yadav then joined Samson, and the duo established a strong partnership that shifted momentum back in India’s favor. Samson quickly found his rhythm, launching a series of boundary shots and reaching his fifty in just 27 balls, an innings punctuated by his five sixes and three fours. Suryakumar complemented him with a handy 21 off 17 balls, including two boundaries and a six, before falling to Patrick Kruger at the close of the ninth over.
At the halfway point, India was well-positioned at 122/2, with Samson leading the charge at an aggressive strike rate over 190. Tilak Varma, who joined Samson after Suryakumar’s dismissal, continued the aggressive tempo with 13 off 7 balls. With India’s current run rate at a solid 10.60, the team looked primed for a formidable total, as Samson’s powerful unbeaten 76 anchored the innings, setting the stage for an imposing score in the remaining overs.
