Cricket lovers tend to collect a memory of their favourite player, wherever they can. Fans in South Africa are no different from this tendency as it was evident on Day 3 of the 2nd Test between South Africa and Pakistan. The young South Africa batter Tristan Stubbs found himself in the middle of an additional responsibility.
Tristan Stubbs faces sea of collectibles for autographs
The 24-year-old youngster came to the boundary-line as a fielder but found himself in the middle of items which the crowd had collected on the South African players to sign. Stubbs felt the need to fulfill the Proteas fans’ wishes and a number of items such as a balls, cricket bats, stumps, jerseys, hats among others to give his autograph. However, Stubbs couldn’t attend to each item as play was underway with openers Babar Azam and Shan Masood on the crease.

Pakistan’s heroic stand to save the Test
Pakistan were in a grim situation at the beginning of the match with South Africa adding a mammoth 615 runs in their first innings with a double-century from Ryan Rickelton and a ton from captain Temba Bavuma and Kyle Verreynne. In response, Pakistan were bowled out in their first innings on 194 runs enforcing a follow-on.
Pakistan were desperate to score runs on the board to save the Test match, and the openers got the second innings off to a solid start. Skipper Masood provided stability to the Pakistani innings for a long time and put together a heroic stand in front of South African pacers. Masood scored 145 runs off 251 balls before Kwena Maphaka took his wicket in the 84th over of the innings. Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha are currently on the crease for Pakistan trying to outmatch the South African first innings total and somehow save the Test match.
