Critical stakes for England in the upcoming Test series
The upcoming three-match Test series against Pakistan that will commence on October 7 is of significant importance, especially following England’s recent 3-2 loss in a five-match ODI series against Australia on home turf.
Both teams are seeking redemption after disappointing performances in their previous series – England against Australia and Pakistan against Bangladesh.
With India and Australia firmly occupying the top two spots in the World Test Championship standings, England currently sits in fourth place. This series against Pakistan will be pivotal for England’s aspirations to qualify for the World Test Championship finals for the 2023-25 cycle. The stakes are high, and both teams will be eager to find form and establish dominance in this highly anticipated series.
