India are competing with Bangladesh in their only T20 World Cup 2024 warm-up match at the Nassau County Cricket Ground in New York. Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first on a pitch expected to favour batters with good bounce.

Reason for Virat Kohli’s absence

While fans were eager to see Virat Kohli in action, Rohit confirmed that the star batter has been rested for the warm-up game. Kohli arrived in New York only on Friday due to paperwork delays and will not be part of India’s final preparation match.

Despite missing the match, Kohli was spotted putting in some practice on the ground before the start. The crowd erupted in cheers as they witnessed the superstar cricketer training in New York.
