Wasim followed up with another key breakthrough, derailing Originals’ pursuit in a gripping chase. Imad Wasim’s remarkable ball to dismiss Jamie Overton

Defending a target of 146, Wasim went wicketless in his initial spell alongside express paceman Luke Wood. However, in his return during the slog overs, Wasim struck twice in three deliveries, dismissing Overton on 82nd delivery with a drifter from wide of the crease, Overton tried to push it but misjudged and ball crashed straight into the stumps. After that Imad further took the wicket of Tom Hartley. His crucial breakthroughs shifted the momentum and brought the game back in Rockets’ favour.

Trent Rockets steal the match from Manchester Originals’ grasp

In addition to Wasim’s key contributions, Afghanistan’s spin sensation Rashid Khan also claimed two wickets, reaching the milestone of 600 T20 wickets as Rockets ultimately secured a nail-biting one-run victory thanks to a tight final over by Jordan Thompson. Earlier in the game, Rockets posted a total of 145/7 from 100 balls, with Banton leading the charge with 45 runs off just 22 deliveries. Hartley delivered a standout performance with the ball for the Originals, taking three wickets for 25 runs.
