Scott Boland’s key role in India’s struggles on Day 1

Despite the late excitement, it couldn’t overshadow a challenging day for India, who made the bold decision to leave out captain Rohit Sharma for the crucial Test and won the toss but were bowled out for just 185. With the need to win the final Test at the SCG to equalize the series and defend their trophy, India found themselves struggling against Scott Boland, who was the main obstacle in their path.

The Victorian seamer finished with figures of 4-31, dismissing key Indian players such as Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Australia ended the opening day with a score of 9/1, still trailing by 176 runs at stumps.
